The Web 3 Workshop, part of Compufest 2k23, occurred on October 12, 2023, as an online event via MS Teams. Organized by
Mr. Pranav Paraskar, Miss Khushali Gainer, and Mr. Sahil Mohurale, it focused on decentralized internet technologies,
introducing concepts like blockchain and decentralized apps. Hosted by Gurashi Gupta and Anant Jain, the workshop
attracted 548 participants, including 499 from various Indian states and 49 international participants from 13 countries
(Egypt, Canada, Pakistan, Brazil, Italy, Kenya, etc.). The event aimed to provide insights into the future of the web.
The Optimiser event on October 11, 2023, part of Compufest 2k23 organized by the Department of Computer Technology,
was an online coding contest on the Coding Ninjas platform. Coordinated by Jay Arora and Viranchi Dakhare, it featured
challenging problem statements requiring efficient solutions in various coding languages. Participants, numbering
904, showcased their coding and problem-solving skills. Of these, 833 were
from 28 Indian states, including Delhi, Karnataka, and 71 were international participants
from 11 countries like Pakistan, Kenya, and Sri Lanka. The event provided a competitive and educational
platform for aspiring programmers to demonstrate their prowess and problem-solving skills.
The Cloud Skill Challenge at Compufest 2k23, held on October 13, 2023, was organized online by Vaishnavi Rahangdale and
Shivam Durbule. Hosted by MLSA Miss Sakshi Kokardekar and Aditya Balki in collaboration with the Dev Bridge Community,
the event utilized the MS platform. Participants took a quiz, and qualified individuals faced a challenge, with the top
three winners receiving one year of free LinkedIn Premium. In total, 493 participants engaged, with 448 from 22 Indian
states (including Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab) and 45 international participants from 16 countries,
spanning Europe, Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
As part of Compufest 2k23, an international tech fest by the Department of Computer Technology, an online event occurred
on October 13, 2023. MLSA Miss Sakshi Kokardekar hosted discussions on Android and data visualization. Notably,
Microsoft Student Ambassadors Samuel Okello from Kenya and Oumayma Mhamdi from Tunisia served as resource persons. The
event drew 619 participants, including 577 from 27 Indian states and 42 international participants from eight countries
(Europe, Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, etc.), fostering global knowledge exchange on evolving computing
technologies
Power Bi workshop, Safe was organized as part of Compufest 2k23, an international-level tech fest hosted by the
Department of Computer Technology on October 13, 2023. Coordinated by Mr. Nayan Mankar and Ms. Pranjali Mishra. This
event took place in an online mode, and it attracted participation from international attendees hailing from various
countries, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Indonesia, Nepal, Egypt, Europe, Myanmar, and Tunisia. Additionally,
participants from 13 different states and cities across India, such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir,
and Kerala, actively took part in this event. The power bi workshop was well attended. The event was conducted through
the MS-Teams platform, and the distinguished host speaker Mr. Nayan Mankar.
React Kickstart was an event held
An International-level Techfest on October
organized by the Department of hempufest 13th, 2023. This event was designed for students with some prior knowledge of
web development who were eager to learn about React, a powerful tool for creating captivating web interfaces.
As the name implies, "React Kickstart" was a beginner-friendly boot camp where
the speaker provided foundational knowledge about React and highlighted its significance in modern web development. The
speaker initiated the session by explaining the fundamentals of React and concluded by demonstrating the creation of a
small React project.
Compufest 2k22 organized an international webinar on Cloud Computing and Computer Vision on MS Azure, featuring speakers namely Sakshi Kokardekar(BETA MLSA) from India, Seth Ado(Alpha MLSA) from Ghana, and Oumayna Mhamdi(Alpha MLSA) from Tunisia. Over 400 students worldwide participated in the event, learning about optical character recognition and machine learning through hands-on sessions with Microsoft Student Learn Ambassadors, and exploring opportunities in the field of Cloud and MS Azure.
“Reverse Coding” was organised under CofeChef YCCE Chapter for the first time in it’s history.
It was not that orthodox coding of writing a code for the given problem statement. But, as the
name suggests, participants were actually made to do the reverse of it. Here, the participants were
provided with input, output, constraints and some sample test cases. No problem statement was
mentioned and the participants had to write the code based on the given conditions. Mr. S
Akshansh and Mr. Amit Bhagat grabbed first and second position respectively.
Code Breaker, a seminar organized as part of Compufest 2k22, aimed to clear students' doubts regarding IT recruiters. The speaker, Nikhil Tamrakar, discussed IT hiring, coding requirements, trending technologies, and communication, problem-solving, team play, and leadership skills. He also introduced students to languages like C, C++, Java, and Python, and discussed common coding interview questions, as well as the importance of learning DBMS and DSA for placements. Around 39 students participated in the interactive session to expand their knowledge related to the IT industry.
3D Workshop was organised under Compufest 2k22. The organizers of the
workshop were Mohit Kulkarni and Nayan Mankar. It was conducted in online
mode. The platform on which the whole workshop was conducted was Blender. It
was structured in modular manner so that one can start with the first principles
suitable for those with little experience and gradually progress towards a more
advanced level. Maximum participation was shown by students of all departments
and learned about 3D- modeling. There was also a hands on session conducted.
Career opportunities were also discussed.
