Coding Olympiad 1.0 (National Level Exam)

On 24 th January 2023, The Coding Cub, YCCE – Codeware and ACM Student Chapter, YCCE has jointly organized a National Level Coding Contest – Coding Olympiad 1.O, with an aim to emphasize the coding skills of the participants and making them aware about the competitive coding expected during campus placement. More than 250 participants across Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other states pan India took part in the coding contest. The winners were awarded with cash prizes as 5000/- for 1 st winner, 3000/- for 2 nd winner an 1000/- for 3 rd winner. The contest was coordinated under the leadership of faculty coordinators – Prof. Supriya Thombre and Prof. Nikhil Mangrulkar and under the guidance of Dr. Rakhi Wajgi, Head of the Department, Computer Technology, YCCE. Continuous support and encouragement for this contest was provided by our management and Dr. U.P Waghe, Principal YCCE.

The Department of Computer Technology organized a “SAMPARK Alumini Conclave” by inviting five distinguished alumini’s namely Mr. Madhao Wagh, Senior MLE/Data Scientist at QuantumBlack, Portland, Oregon, United States, Mr. Atharav Puranik, Quintar,inc, Talks about #ar, #vr, #metaverse, San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Hashmita Raut, Senior Manager Analytics at FirstCry.com (BrainBees Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), Pune, Maharashtra, India, Ms. Shivani Allewar, Software Developer at Deloitte India (Offices of the US), Hyderabad, India, and Mr. Mayuresh Patle, M Tech at IISc, Bangalore. Maharashtra, India. The conclave's main focus was career counselling by the alumni to their juniors . They acted as mentors by imparting expertise in their specialised professions to students and encouraging them to make wise career selections. They exhorted them to set high standards and go for big aspirations. The interaction with the alumni provided the participants with a wealth of new material to learn and motivated them. The conclave concluded with the conversations with alumni about their difficulties and other aspects of their future trajectories. The Department Head, Dr. Rakhi Wajgi, and Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Supriya Thombre, both contributed crucial and endless support that helped the conclave succeed.

Description: The Department of Computer Technology organized Value Added Course on Advancement in Techniques used for Data Science. The course was organized for the students of final year. Domain experts were invited to guide the students and share their knowledge on the same.The students learnt about insights and applications of various domains like AI/ML, Data Analytics, Neural Networks in Data Science. Also, they got to know about various advanced techniques that in trend in the data science field. It was complete 30 hrs. Course, which was successfully organized under the valuable guidance of our faculty coordinators - Dr. Kavita Singh & Prof. Supriya Thombre.

SDP on Data Science

Resource Speaker: Er. Sagar Lachure

Description: “Python for Data Science” was a 2-Day Student Development Program (SDP), organized specifically for the students of 3rd semester. Some students from 6th semester who were interested to learn about Data Science, also attended the SDP. The Expert Speaker, ‘Er. Sagar Lachure’ provided the students insight about basic concepts of python and how to implement Python for Data Science. The speaker also demonstrated how to build and train a model using Python on Jupiter Notebook. The students got to learn about the Data Science concepts and hands-on-experience about how to build a model from scratch and performing various Data Science Operations on it. Around 81 students took the benefit of the program.
